Ooooo they released it!

OpenOffice.org 2.0

This release uses the OASIS OpenDocument format, just like KOffice does, and AbiWord and WordPerfect will will (and even Microsoft Office might).

I’m sure it will work nice, and if you take into account the price (of a legal version), MS Office really is no competition.

Download it now, or wait until a localized version appears.
